Primary Purpose
The Packaging Analyst is responsible for executing the packaging strategy for the Private Brands portfolio of products in terms of data and reporting. The role will work with the Private Brands team in capturing detailed Private Brand product packaging data that will be used for on-packaging sustainability communication and global public reporting. This role will interact at the local level, across the US market, with the global leadership team and both our Private Brands vendors and strategic packaging vendors.

Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC , Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, and Hyattsville, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities
Specifications
  • Act as the expert for the Digital Packaging Specification Management System of Private Brands
  • Work with suppliers within the specification system to move projects to achieve deadlines
  • Conducts random audits of the packaging data to ensure data integrity of the Packaging Database
  • Coordinates supplier contacts and packaging data submissions
  • Communicates to suppliers to ensure submission
  • Assists the Packaging Engineering Manager on Data Validation
  • Provides daily and weekly progress reports on packaging data collection
  • Ensures audited supplier submissions are re-submitted

Sustainability
  • Actively participate in the Plastics Center of Excellence and support project execution through active data information
  • Aids in analyzing and auditing packaging data for the New Plastic Economy Commitment goals
  • Build packaging data reports to be used on public commitment goals and other legal requirements like EPR and chemical restrictions
  • Tracks compliance for company initiatives around sustainable packaging
  • Responsible for providing data on compliance for sustainable packaging

Recycling Information and Packaging Claims
  • Reviews recycling information forms from suppliers
  • Coordinates with suppliers if more information is needed
  • Submits information gathered to How2Recycle to provide a timely response for each project
  • Reviews and submits the final artwork to How2Recycle
  • Tracks compliance of How2Recycle label on Private Brand products
  • Responsible for providing data on compliance for How2Recycle
  • Reviews and approves packaging claims submitted by suppliers
  • Gathers relevant documentation to substantiate claims
  • Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 0-2 years of related experience. Experience in fast-moving consumer goods industry preferred
