Overview

Set strategy to drive bottom-line performance, increase business opportunities and generate revenue from key national and strategic customers. This role is a leadership position responsible for the overall results of National Accounts - National Retail Sales (NRS) and the development of employees managing National Account relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop National Accounts strategy, drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI), targets and goals, and overall growth
  • Mentor National Accounts employees to build relationships, influence key decision makers, and increase overall success of the customer while gaining market share
  • Work with SGWS executives and supplier executives to balance priorities and determine National Accounts strategies
  • Develop customer relationships with key decision makers; establish and maintain high-level, executive contact with accounts, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of strategic relationships
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees; coach, counsel and manage employees
  • Work with Customer Developmentto guide employees to develop National Accounts programs, sales plan and promotion calendar based on category, customer, and consumer insights
  • Support supplier goals; focus on expanding national and strategic market presence in National Accounts
  • Evaluate and provide feedback of national programs across regions
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 20 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 15 years of supplier management and large customer account experience in the wine & spirits industry
  • Demonstrated experience direct sales and national account management with key customers and suppliers
  • 10 years of demonstrated management experience
  • Demonstrated Category management and brand management experience
  • Understanding of market dynamics and chain dynamics for wine & spirits
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations in major states
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
