Project/Unit Description
The Test Engineering Division (TEN) develops Hardware in the Loop (HITL) test sets, test tools, analysis tools and test methods for US Air Force, Army, Navy sponsors. This research is critical for supporting development, debugging, analysis and testing of Electronic Warfare (EW) and Integrated EW (IEW) systems. The Robins Test Systems Engineering Branch (RTSEB) of TEN develops DoD Electronic Warfare and Avionics systems Test and Evaluation solutions, with a specific focus on the systems engineering, design, development and application of these systems.
Job Purpose
The Systems Engineer oversees and coordinates the work of technical teams on systems projects, ensuring the successful design, implementation, operation, and technical management of those projects. Taking a holistic approach to systems engineering, the Systems Engineer ensures that all aspects of a system project are considered and addressed. The Systems Engineer works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and then develops and documents technical requirements that meet those needs. The Systems Engineer leads the design team in developing a system architecture that meets all of the requirements. After the system is designed, the Systems Engineer oversees the implementation of the system, working with the implementation team to ensure that it meets all of the requirements. Once the system is deployed, the Systems Engineer manages the technical aspects of the system, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting problems, and making improvements.

- Create product or system definitions and conduct initial requirements analysis
- Contribute to technical reports and diagrams detailing product or system attributes
- Analyze product or system functionality as defined by requirements
- Interface with and begin to work with disparate engineering teams for technical tasking
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop novel, technical approaches to support the Department of Defense (DoD) system life cycle
- Work closely with customers, subject matter experts, and project teams
- Provide on-site support and troubleshooting of software and hardware systems
- Work on and test with physical electronic hardware systems
- Perform task management
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform systems engineering analysis relating to cyber assessment of EW/Avionics systems
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with electrical hardware testing or hardware development (This can be work experience, personal experience, or school projects or capstones)
- Experience working on an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience with computer automated design tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Experience with RF test hardware (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
- Experience with electrical power and control systems
- Experience with EW and/or Avionics systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with versioning control systems such as Git
- Willingness to travel
