As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Wireless, Communications & Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience. This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.
**International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available**

Duties & Responsibilities

SOME OF YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Lead Engineer for the integration activities of the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a critical integration effort of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon.
• Collaborate with lab personnel, partners, providers, and testing stakeholders to understand interface and testing requirements.
• Leverage interface knowledge to assure lab design provides the proper interfaces and fidelity to satisfy testing objectives.
• Develop expertise on lab verification efforts and ensure facility is applicable for assigned testing.
• Assist in lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure equipment meets requirements and is satisfactorily integrated.
• Maintain strict documentation of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing results.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Provide support to lab personnel and external customers on integrated systems and their specifications.
• Continuously reassess documents, policies, and procedures for future configurations of the lab.
• Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
• Communicate and organize to efficiently work within a team environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field.
• Experience integrating complex hardware and software systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging skills.
• Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.

PREFERRED

• Five (5) years of years of experience in the field.
• Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork is a plus.
• Experience with NASA processes is a plus.
