This is a remote role.
Pay Range: $50/hr - $58/hr

Our client is looking for a Technical Writer to author and edit our industry-leading technology for developers all over the world. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of effectively capturing and communicating technical information related to software products (API/SDK) and development procedures.

The Technical Writer's Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain SDK documentation for developer.oculus.com.
• Work closely with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure quality and accuracy of content.
• Design, draft, and edit technical and process documentation.
• Support the release and adoption of software.
• Support multiple programming languages and development platforms.
• Create and maintain code samples and sample applications, as needed.

The Technical Writer's Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience authoring technical documentation for an engineering audience.*
• Experience with programming languages like C++, or similar.
• Experience working with markdown content formatting.
• Experience interpreting example code so that it can be explained to users.
• Experience using source control to manage and publish content.

The Technical Writer's Preferred Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science or English or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarity with game engine development (Unity, Unreal).
• Familiarity with VR/MR concepts and technologies.
• Established record of strong project ownership, project management, and self-direction.
• Able to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and coordinate deadlines.
• Able to assist in the automation of documentation processes.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $50/hr - $58/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
