About our Tournament Manager Development Program:

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing, managing, and facilitating the logistics for PPA Tours' new pickleball tournaments. This is a one-year program designed to teach the skills needed to run and market pickleball tournaments across the country, with potential for upward mobility upon completion.

Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Coordination:
  • Plan, organize, and execute pickleball tournaments and events from start to finish.
  • Develop detailed event plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with venues, vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the event are arranged.

Participant Management:
  • Manage player registration, including setting up registration systems, processing entries, and communicating with participants.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all participants and tournament brackets.
  • Address participant inquiries and provide excellent customer service throughout the event.

Logistics and Operations:
  • Oversee and assist in all logistical aspects of tournaments, including equipment rental, transportation, and accommodation arrangements.
  • Ensure that all tournament facilities are prepared and meet the required standards.
  • Assist on-site operations during events, including setup, breakdown, and coordination of staff and volunteers.

Promotion and Communication:
  • Work with the marketing team to promote tournaments and events through various channels, including social media, email, and the UPA website.
  • Develop and distribute event communications, such as schedules, rules, and updates to participants and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain relationships with sponsors, vendors, and partners to enhance event quality and participant experience.


Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be a "people person."
  • Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to new environments.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively.
  • Passion for sports, particularly pickleball, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic understanding of marketing tools.
