In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712 + IOR.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
OR
EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D., if related, with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Duties
- Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced levels.
- Develops and/or revises lesson plans and training materials.
- Monitors and evaluates student progress and performance.
- Inputs necessary data into the Technical Training Management System (TTMS).
- Maintains professional and technical expertise.

- Assigned courses are accredited by the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- May be required to work on special projects as directed by the supervisor.
- This position has been identified as Technical Training Essential.
- The work will require the employee to drive motor vehicles. Must possess a valid state Class B (CDL) commercial drivers' license with HAZMAT, Air Brake and Tank endorsements or be able to obtain within 6 months of assignment. cont
- NOTE: Possessing or obtaining a Class B (CDL) within the required time frame is a condition of employment.
- A physical exam is required. Employee must be able to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 90lbs. The position requires crawling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- There will be a requirement for a visual and color-blind test.
- May be required to work in a confined space or in situations where the incumbent is free from the fear of heights.
- May be required to wear safety toe shoes and/or protective clothing/equipment when appropriate.
- Incumbent will be required to work with petroleum products.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. cont
- Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. cont

- Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. Knowledge of computer applications.
- Skill in written and oral communication.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.
