The UVA | Northern Virginia team is seeking experienced and dynamic individuals as Instructors for Executive and Employee Education Programming. As an instructor, you will have the opportunity to deliver high-impact and transformative learning experiences to executives, senior leaders, and employees from various industries. Your expertise and teaching abilities will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering content, fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment, and empowering professionals and organizations to excel in their development.

UVA | Northern Virginia is a pan-University, entrepreneurial unit, and will address a range of innovative, evolving educational opportunities in the Northern Virginia region and beyond.

In executing this vision, we provide a wide range of executive and employee education programs that utilize s faculty from across the University of Virginia and our extended network. These sessions may take place in-person in northern Virginia and /or online through both synchronous and asynchronous platforms.

Depending on the particular project or educational program , responsibilities could include:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in courses related to your area of expertise, incorporating real-world examples, case studies, and industry best practices. Contribute to the design of program objectives , learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with business development directors, UVA | Northern Virginia administration, and faculty team to ensure its relevance and alignment with industry standards and client expectations .
  • Adapt instructional techniques to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of participants.
  • Facilitation and Coaching: Foster a collaborative and participatory learning environment by encouraging active participation, facilitating discussions, and providing constructive feedback.
  • As instruc ted, pr ovide coaching and mentoring to participants, helping them apply concepts learned in the program to their specific professional contexts.
Minimum Requirements

Education: Candidates will be evaluated based on years and level of experience, subject-area needs, and commitment to teaching. A master's degree in an affiliated discipline is strongly preferred.

Experience: Extensive Change Management Teaching and Consulting Experience

Compensation:

Faculty will be compensated for the design and delivery of each course session. Specific pricing and compensation agreements will be identified and agreed upon by the faculty and the UVA | Northern Virginia team and may be dependent on program specifics. For most synchronous (online or virtual) teaching sessions in which the guest faculty is the sole provider and instructor, they will receive $1,700 for design and $1,300 for delivery for a 90-minute session.

Please note: This is an at-will faculty wage position which does not carry benefits. Most hires are made for part-time appointments.
