Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school (or equivalent) and two years of experience involving vehicle maintenance and repair work. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents must have an acceptable driving record and must qualify for insurability by the District's insurance carrier. The following licenses or other requirements must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment: Valid California Class B or Class A commercial driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements. US Department of Transportation Medical Examiner's Certificate. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in Master Automotive Technician, Master Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Technician, or Master School Bus Technician is desired. NOTE: This classification has been identified as a safety-sensitive job class based on the guidelines of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Employees in this job class are subject to random selection for alcohol or controlled substance testing.
