Department Summary
Campus Human Resources strives for excellence in delivering quality human resources services to UNT Dallas and UNT Dallas College of Law faculty, staff and student employees. We are committed to offering services in areas of strategic planning, diversity and inclusion, workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, talent management, coaching, organizational development, policy interpretation, compensation, benefits and performance management.
Position Overview
This student position will assist with supporting Human Resources staff members with the day-to-day HR-related functions of the organization, while maintaining a high-level of confidentiality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Answer the main HR phone line and direct customers to the appropriate resources or HR contacts
Monitor guest traffic and greet internal and external customers directing to the HR contacts.
Provide project support for various HR projects, i.e. student employment resources, employee engagement initiatives.
Assist with organizing HR-related events.
Support the monthly employee recognition program and provide service award assistance, i.e. coordinate service award distribution/pickup.
Assist with transcribing to create ADA-compliant transcripts of our HR trainings and material content that are accessible to "reading scanners" for the visually impaired.
Assist with PowerPoint presentation and materials for HR trainings.
Organize front desk area, order supplies, and maintain monthly HR Team office scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled UNT Dallas or UNT Dallas College of Law student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following:
Must qualify as work-study eligible
Must be enrolled at least half-time.
Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
Responsible, reliable and punctual.
Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Written and verbal fluency in Spanish.
Involvement or member of UNT Dallas SHRM chapter.
Previous office experience.

Monday - Friday within the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, depending on class schedule. Max 20 hours per week.
