Our client, a high education is looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team. They are looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience working with the General Ledger and journal entries.
Requirements
• Bachelors Accounting or business related degree
• Minimum of 2 year experience working with general ledger and journal entries
• Advanced MS Excel (Pivot table vlook up)
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for recording and reconciling activity within the general ledger (balance sheet and income statement accounts), ensuring this activity is in line with the operational units' systems and records, and producing financial reports and schedules to support key stakeholders.
• Reviews and reconciles financial data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Strong communication, customer service-internal & external stakeholders
• Performs monthly and annual closing processes; and runs monthly reports
• Responsible for journal entries, recording revenue, clearing accounts
• Monitor bank account/cash flow, communicate with treasury
• Responsible for daily accounting and validation of financial activity including but not limited to those transactions from Student Financials, Institutional Advancement, Office of Conferences and Events, and all of the other various campus subsystems and external partners.
• Prepare standard reports on routine basis (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually) including reconciliations, variance analyses, etc.
• Perform necessary reconciliations of assigned financial activity and general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
