Job Summary
The Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join their team. In this role, you will plan, supervise, and participate in work of assigned organizational unit and maintain internal accounting procedures, clerical operations, and workflow to achieve maximum efficiency. Additionally, you will evaluate work in process and determine work priorities for staff of accountants and accounting clerks. This role requires personnel management experience (hiring, onboarding, disciplinary, evaluating, mentoring employees), experience compiling financial reports, analyzing expenditures and budgeting, experience with grants management is desirable. Requires proficiency in creating and manipulating complex linked spreadsheets. Must have demonstrated personal management experience and good people skills. Has had significant financial analysis experience either in academic setting or equivalent. Grants management experience would be a plus. Must be organized, have an understanding of financial terminology. Must have strong interpersonal skills and confidence in interacting with faculty regarding grant application and financial matters.

Experience and Education
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with minimum twelve (12) hours in accounting and five (5) years progressively responsible experience in governmental and/or commercial accounting.
- Plans, supervises, and participates in work of assigned organizational unit.
- Maintains internal accounting procedures, clerical operations, and workflow to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Evaluates work in process and determines work priorities for staff of accountants, accounting clerks, or both.
- Performs several, but not all of, the following functions: advises principle investigators and other management personnel regarding planning and revising of budgets to ensure that monies are expended correctly; prepares and/or coordinates preparation of monthly financial reports, schedules for annual financial reports, and reports to various government agencies, ensuring adherence to applicable procedures and regulations of UT System and Federal and State agencies concerned. Reviews current accounting procedures and reporting procedures and internal controls; recommends more efficient procedures.
- Supervises unit or multiple units of Accountants or Accounting Clerks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
