Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs moderately complex and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Drafts and sends communications on supervisor/departmental staff behalf. Reconciles P-Card/Concur for other staff/faculty against departmental budget. Performs some simple budget monitoring/entry. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Additional Department Summary: Assists Associate Dean of Educational Programs and Student Services and the Associate Dean of Professional Advancement & Assessment in day-to-day operations of both offices. Provides programmatic support, completes complex administrative duties, and oversees School of Social Work scholarships as well as developing and maintaining student databases. Acts as main liaison to other administrative offices as well as external contacts; maintain student services budget. Arrange meetings, itineraries, meeting agendas and minutes. Oversees administration of program evaluation instruments. Compiles data and prepare reports.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative experience; OR associate's degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to operate in a fast-paced and complex environment and collaborate with program directors, faculty, and staff in academic program development, recruitment, and assessment. Ability to collaborate with external campus partners on policies, processes, and procedures that impact program operations.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and experience working in a higher education environment.
