Introduction

Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) within the Department of Health Services is currently hiring an Administrative Assistant position to support the Treatment Department in Mauston, WI. Work hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility.

SRSTC opened in 2001 and provides care and treatment for several different patient populations. The center houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program, provides care and treatment for persons found not guilty by reasons of mental disease or mental defect, and provides court ordered treatment, testing, and education to patients found not competent to stand trial. SRSTC is a 500-bed treatment facility and is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS). Watch this video to learn more about the work of DCTS .

Position Summary

In this role, you will provide administrative support to multiple staff in the Treatment Department. Responsibilities include:
  • Entering data into databases and generating reports for statistical, research, and quality improvement purposes.
  • Composing different materials including templates, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, narrative summaries, and correspondence.
  • Serving as a liaison with other departments in SRSTC as well as external partners.
  • Scheduling meetings, screening calls, filing, tracking projects, and other administrative and customer service related tasks as needed.

Salary Information

The starting pay is $21.66 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an Operations Program Associate in pay schedule and range 02/11.

Job Details

  • All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility after their start date.
  • All applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
  • DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include all of the following:
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook to perform duties including creating documents and spreadsheets, email correspondence, and maintaining calendar(s).
  • Experience maintaining information in databases including entering data and generating reports.
  • Experience providing administrative support in an office environment (e.g., answering questions, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes for meetings, ordering and maintaining inventory, organizing files, etc.).
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information such as personal identifiable information (PII) or health record information.
  • Experience working with people from different professional disciplines.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or correctional facility.
