Performs administrative duties for the Department and Department’s programs. Handles day-to-day operations, including reception, supplies inventory and ordering, and events/seminar planning. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of department and organization policies and procedures. Maintains and supervises the graduate student application process. Maintains the Department website and related activities. Acts as liaison with other university administrative units.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Adobe)
  • Proficient data entry and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others of diverse personalities, education, and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to establish priorities, exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and integrity in the performance of all duties
  • Ability to prioritize and work with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to successfully meet established project deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a professional team and to collaborate effectively with individuals within the University as well as with outside contacts
  • High school diploma/equivalent and 2 years of directly related work experience to include experience in computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, webpage management)
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • University or related office experience preferred
  • Familiarity with CONCUR, APPLY YOURSELF, Banner, and TAMS a plus
