Summary/Objective:

Under the general supervision of the Lead Adult Day Services Coordinator, this role is responsible for assuring that programs provided by ARC are designed and implemented to promote presence and participation in the community. Emphasis will be placed on assisting all participants served along their path to employment and community engagement. This role must strive to meet ARC's mission and to work toward assisting participants to meet their community goals.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Effectively manage designated segments of ARC's Adult Day Services (ADS) operations, to include; Mobile and/or Remote ADS.
  • Ensure the delivery of services which adhere to CMS, DODD, OOD and CARF rules and standards.
  • Ensure the adult resource center operations meet applicable health and safety codes.
  • Maintain an environment at the adult resource center free of health and safety hazards, which includes ensuring compliance across locations, with all Personal Protective Equipment, Health Screening and Infectious Disease Control policies as required.
  • Supervise assigned employees; screen, interview and recommend applicants for hire; recommend assignments, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions and other personnel actions; evaluate employee performance.
  • Identify staff training needs, coordinate and/or conduct in-service training programs.
  • Plan, develop and implement effective communications with participants, family members, external stakeholders and interested parties.
  • Establish and maintain record systems as required to report program and participant progress on a regular basis; develop and prepare records, reports and correspondence as required.
  • Implement therapeutic program planning to ensure quality program outcomes.
  • Coordinate creative activities and service delivery methods to ensure a positive customer experience for each participant served.
  • Uphold the rights, dignity and respect of all persons served while promoting independence and self- advocacy skills.
  • Ensure that services delivered correspond with Participant ISP outcomes.
  • Attend and/or provide input for Participant ISP Meetings.
  • Remain on-call to address elevated incidents, program issues or concerns.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with other departments within the agency.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with businesses and organizations in the community to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide transportation as needed, to and from a participant's home to the center-based location for participants receiving services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or 4 years equivalent experience).
  • Two years of direct experience supporting participants with developmental disabilities, which includes experience in the administration of Adult Services programs.


Eligibility Qualifications:
  • Must possess the ability to approach projects in a practical and entrepreneurial manner with strong creative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid experience developing program standards, goals and objectives.
  • Must have demonstrated experience measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of in-house program services.
  • Previous experience with CARF and DODD accreditation process.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of participants, staff, parents, administrators and community partners with a strong customer service focus.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology in all facets of work including standard office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must possess a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong desire to build and work in a collaborative environment.
  • Extensive experience handling confidential information including familiarity with HIPPA requirements and compliance.
  • Previous experience leading staff through significant organizational transitions.
  • Solid ability to handle ambiguous situations and make decisions/recommendations on next steps.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with internal and external customers.
  • Strong desire to support the mission of the organization.
  • This role must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver's license and an acceptable point limit to be eligible as an Agency driver.


Required Licensure and Certifications:
  • Must submit to and pass applicable background checks and drug screen.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification required.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is assigned to work within the Adult Day Services division and is responsible for the performance management, development and hiring of assigned employees within that division.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours are generally worked Monday through Friday but may include evenings and weekends, given the timing of Adult Day Services programs and events.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may occur.
