This position reports to

Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

• As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing our manufacturing processes through innovative layout development,
• simulation, and application of Lean manufacturing principles. You will lead the assembly lines simulation using simulation software like FlexSim, streamline layout development processes, create and maintain 2D and 3D master layouts,
• and drive productivity improvements. You will provide dedicated support for ongoing projects, and you will drive improvements in production of Instrument Transformers and Indoor & Outdoor products production in ELDS in Pinetops, North Carolina.
• Utilize simulation software such as FlexSim to model and simulate assembly line processes
• Analyze simulation results to identify bottlenecks, optimize workflow, and improve overall efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement simulation-driven improvements and validate solutions
• Apply Lean manufacturing tools and principles to streamline layout development processes
• Conduct value stream mapping and process analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
• Optimize people and materials flow, area utilization, and workstation design to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Develop comprehensive 2D and 3D master layouts of the manufacturing plant using CAD software
• Lead initiatives to improve overall productivity and efficiency within the manufacturing environment
• Provide training and support to team members to ensure adoption of new processes and tools

Qualifications for the role

• University degree in Engineering degree, (Mechanical, Electronics, Control, and Automation)
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing, layout development, simulation, or related fields
• Strong experience in layout development and optimization required
• Ability to work onsite in Pinetops, NC daily
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Proficiency in simulation software such as FlexSim or similar tools
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and their application in layout design and process optimization preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead change initiatives
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
