About this Role:
Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs a wide variety of consultative and analytical assignments supporting program administration and eligibility determination concerning intake and authorization processes for the Special Programs Section, Genetically Handicapped Persons Program (GHPP). The AGPA provides creative and logical analyses utilizing a variety of analytical techniques regarding program utilization and administration; assists with troubleshooting program issues; develops and evaluate alternatives when needed; presents ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing; and works collaboratively with others within the Special Program Utilization Management Branch (SPUMB). Incumbent may perform other duties as necessary to support program administration, eligibility and authorization processing to include, but not limited to: coordinating receipt of and processing of electronic faxes, accessing and responding to inquiries in program vanity mailboxes, ensuring proper distribution of medical documentation, functioning as Case Managers and worker of the day (WOD), and maintain detailed knowledge of GHPP policies, laws, regulations and legislative processes. The AGPA is expected to demonstrate independence, good judgment, flexibility, open-mindedness, and tact as well as maintain effective communication in both written and verbal contexts, with the ability to work under pressure to meet performance requirements.
