Under the general direction of the Deputy District Director, Administration, a Career Executive Appointment (CEA), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst performs a variety of analytical and administrative duties in support of the District's Executive Management Team required for the efficient operation of the District Office. The incumbent will provide a wide range of high-level administrative services and regularly communicate with executive level management, including district managers and supervisors, and executive management in headquarters. The incumbent must exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and maintain confidentiality due to highly sensitive issues pertaining to district operations and personnel matters. A positive attitude and commitment to providing quality customer service that is accurate and timely to meet customers needs is expected.

While at the base of operation, the incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office with natural and artificial lighting, at a workstation cubicle in a shared office. Due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperatures may fluctuate. Incumbent may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time using a computer and answering phones. Standard work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, there may be times when work is required outside of normal work hours at night and on the weekends. Travel throughout the district boundaries, other districts, and headquarters may be required to review projects, attend meetings and conferences, and participate in training. A valid Class C driver's license is preferred.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
