Analyst - Leveraged Finance

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Assist in origination, structuring, and execution of transactions, including acquisition financing, for Corporate and Sponsor clients within the leveraged finance space.
  • Apply financial modeling and help identify financing solutions for clients across debt capital markets including bank, Institutional Term Loan B and secured and unsecured high yield bond markets.
  • Contribute to internal and external deal processes with respect to deal documentation, credit and underwriting approvals.
  • Prepare marketing materials and pitch books for clients.
  • Monitor and help team evaluate primary and secondary capital market developments; manage assimilation of related intelligence for preparation of client ready market updates / guidance discussions thorough due diligence, financial and cash flow modelling, preparation of credit requests and financial analysis.
  • Prepare capital structure analysis for new and existing clients / situations, including analysis of comparable transactions, ratings analysis, and evaluating market data.
  • Liaise with other teams internally, including interest & FX hedging, liability management, ECM, M&A, as well as coverage, credit and legal as necessary on new and existing transactions and ongoing client relationship management.
  • Contribute to all stages of transactions, including negotiation and execution of term sheets, commitment documents and credit documents in liaison with internal and external legal counsel. Assist in the syndication process.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent work experience, in Finance, Business, or a related field.


Work Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in Leveraged Finance Investment Banking.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate finance, investment banking products and legal documentation, with a preference to experience in Leveraged Finance.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint with advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead multiple deal teams.
  • Team player and self starter.
