Global Supply Management (GSM) is responsible for helping Amex maximize the purchasing power of over $11B of third party spend. We provide strategic consultation to the business and provide end to end procurement services. We maximize the purchasing power of the Company to drive the best value from our supplier base which then frees up investment capacity for the Blue Box. GSM together with our business partners manages the supplier strategy for the Company, identifying and on-boarding new suppliers, realizing significant cost saves and revenue generation relating to working with Global Commercial Services and Global Merchant Services to increase billings and merchant coverage and ensuring an optimal user experience for Amex employees and suppliers.

Strategic Sourcing and Business Enablement (SS&BE) is responsible for helping Amex maximize its purchasing power and meet enterprise sustainability priorities. This is a global role playing a pivotal role in leading the ESG measurement pillar including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), partnering across categories to produce analytical insights, supporting key priorities, and identifying opportunities to drive Amex climate ambition and grow diverse supplier engagements.

Your mission:

Join the newly established team within our procurement function that is leading the supplier engagement efforts across our ambition to deliver enhanced relationships with diverse suppliers and decarbonize our supply chain. This will be achieved through measurement, supporting strategy development, and partnership with multiple business stakeholders and ESG advocacy groups. This global role will lead reporting and analytics to support core workstreams across all aspects of driving Amex's diverse supplier and climate ambition.

Responsibilities:

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Lead the ESG measurement pillar including production of monthly spend analytics, forecast modeling, budget, and tracking against key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Produce analytics for regular reports, dashboards and filters tailored to the different stakeholders on supplier climate data/commitments, program overall progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support robust data collection & reporting mechanisms (leveraging CDP) to monitor & track supplier emissions and climate maturities
  • Perform data mining, exploration, and analysis of systems and back-end data infrastructure for our emissions pipeline
  • Partner with GSM Analytics team for adherence and evolution of standard operating procedures, data enrichment processes, and dashboard management
  • Serve as ESG tester for our process risk self-assessment framework ensuring consistent evaluation of operational risks
  • Act as third-party relationship manager for select ESG external parties, including ongoing monitoring, sourcing lead, and main point of contact
  • Collaborate closely across the procurement team to provide analysis on supplier diversity opportunities and emission reduction initiatives
  • Partner with Enterprise ESG team to identify synergies with the GHG accounting tool and how supplier data can help refine American Express Scope 3 emission calculations
  • Stay informed about evolving environmental regulations & industry best practices
  • Ability to travel 10%

Required Skills:

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
