Application Support Engineer

Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join one of our largest financial clients in New York City supporting the Global Markets - Global financing and Futures Team. The suite of applications supported cover many different functional aspects of the business, including pricing and trade capture, risk generation and aggregation, market and reference data. The role will give the successful candidate exposure to the full front-to-back process from trade inception to feeding risk downstream

On a day-to-day basis, their support will be centered around BAU support for the trader focused team. They will perform application health checks to assure system availability and stability, user querying and production incident handling, triage, and hands-on trouble-shooting of Python based applications. They will resolve any performance issues per criticality, capacity management and production release process management. All of these processes should be properly documented and communicated effectively. Ideally, this person is proactive in their identification and resolution of problem hotspots and has the creativity and high-energy required to effectively coordinate restoration efforts for this high-impact space.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
- 4+ years of experience providing Production/Application support- facing off to traders directly- Front office support
- Business knowledge in Futures, Fixed Income, Swaps, Treasuries, and/or Trading techniques
- Experience supporting Python based applications
- Experience monitoring the performance and health of system applications, ability to identify and resolve issues proactively (ideally create dashboards, adjust monitoring, rules, active times)
- Enterprise Monitoring ideally using ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, Splunk

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
Familiarity or basic coding knowledge of Python, .NET, or Java applications
Previous Bank of America experience
