Job Summary:

This faculty position will be part of the Division of Geriatric Medicine. This is a part-time (.50FTE), benefited and tenure track position. As with most faculty in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, this will be an "at-will" position, meaning the employee can be terminated at any time without notice, and severance pay may not be provided. The work site(s) may include the UCD Division of Geriatric Medicine's administrative offices, Rocky Mountain Regional Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Investigations in Metabolism, Aging, Gender and Exercise (IMAGE) group exercise research laboratory.

The Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an experienced PhD scientist with expertise in both human clinical investigations and preclinical animal models that complement translation into humans.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be named co-director for the division's prestigious training grant, will provide mentorship to junior research faculty, will submit grants in support of their own research work, and will fill the role of lab director, overseeing the division's wet lab space.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Have a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience successfully mentoring junior research faculty
  • Experience directing an academic wet lab
  • Experience directing a research service
  • Experience leading training or R01-level grants
