Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a clinical faculty or staff psychologist to work in the Transitional Care Center (TCC). The TCC is a unique inpatient unit serving individuals who are mechanically ventilated, led by pulmonologists. The TCC behavioral health program at CCHMC was established in 2018, and the candidate will help expand the existing program to serve patients admitted to the TCC and their families. Program development will be one of the key responsibilities of the position. Additionally, this provider will be expected to:

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary TCC team to support the care of families, which may involve attending medical and/or psychosocial rounds.

• Provide evidence-based behavioral health intervention to patients and families admitted to the TCC. Presenting concerns typically include adjustment to new medical conditions, adaptation to chronic illness, and coping with progression of health needs. Develop and implement screening tools to identify families needing services.

• Collaborate with the Palliative Care team to provide support to families and staff during and after significant medical crises or death of a patient.

• Develop and implement educational services for TCC staff

The ideal candidate will have completed a doctorate in clinical psychology (APA accredited), be licensed or license-eligible in Ohio, with preference for candidates with training or experience working on inpatient medical units. Candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

PhD or PsyD *Minimum experience in assessment and evidence-based treatment of families of children with complex medical conditions such as the patients served on the TCC.

Preferred:

Preferred: *Experience within an inpatient hospital setting collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
