Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Oceaneering Entertainment Systems In-Service Support Group under the direction of the Manger of In-Service Support in accordance with program requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

• Assist the Program or Project Manager on a day-to-day basis for all facets of project management tasks.
• Interact with other engineering and technical disciplines both inside and outside the company, including engineers, designers, drafters, fabrication shop personnel, and hardware vendors.
• Supports the preparation of tools, templates, and procedures related to project planning and control.
• Work with Program or Project Manager to maintain project schedules.
• Work with Cost & Project Analyst to accurately maintain the project financial reports.
• Develop and manage various documentation deliverables including status reports, action item lists, etc.
• Coordinate procurement activities as necessary, including collating vendor quotes, generating requisitions, and tracking purchase orders throughout the project.
• Provide various levels of meeting support as needed.
• Some travel may be required.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Basic understanding of project management principles and experience applying them to a project.
• Technical writing and editing skills.
• Ability to interact with customer representatives.
• Ability to support technical reviews of various documentation deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Computer skills using Microsoft Office products.

DESIRED

• Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Experience in an Engineering and Production environment.
• Knowledge of Scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6).
• Project Management certification.
