The Animal Health Branch (AHB) is advertising to fill an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) position within the Program Support Unit.

Under direction of the AHB Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the AGPA assists the SSM I in developing and implementing the Branch budget. The incumbent manages all the Branch's budget and contracts, including grant fund and interagency agreements, using a wide range of administrative knowledge, analytical, and consultative skills.

The AGPA will have duties including but not limited to:

• Utilize the AHB budget to perform budget projection analysis, and identify budget issues and solutions for the Branch by:

o Evaluating and analyzing all fund sources for the Animal Health Branch (AHB) including General Fund, Federal Fund, and Reimbursement and Continuously Appropriated Funds.

o Independently analyzing operational and economic trends to determine the impact on program operations and budget projections for all funds.

o Preparing, presenting, and submitting budget projections for all General Fund, Federal Funds (Cooperative Agreements/Grants), Reimbursement and Continuously Appropriated funds, cash reserves and revenue projection reports monthly, quarterly, or as needed to address budget drills and other requests.

Department Information
The Animal Health Branch is the State's organized, professional veterinary medical unit that protects California's public health, animal agriculture and economy from catastrophic animal diseases and other health or agricultural problems. The Branch addresses diseases and other problems that require statewide coordinated resources, implements programs that protect California's public health and animal agriculture, and ensures the availability, affordability, and wholesomeness of food.
