Under the general direction of the Applicant & Record Quality Services Branch, Record Quality Services Program Staff Services Manager II, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) works independently, or with other staff, performing a wide variety of analytical assignments in support of critical business needs, services, and administrative requests. The AGPA will perform duties that include, but are not limited to, documenting, analyzing, and recommending process improvement opportunities for program work types, workloads, and process flows. The AGPA will also track and monitor various work data, compile statistical data for the preparation of program, branch, and bureau reports, and prepare written correspondence, procedures, and other related work products. The AGPA independently responds to all criminal and civil subpoenas, court orders, and written requests for criminal history records maintained by the Department of Justice (DOJ) pursuant to Penal Code Section 11105. The AGPA is responsible for reviewing all requests and ensures that legal requirements are met for the release of criminal history records to the requestor. The AGPA responds to inquiries from the public, criminal justice agencies, law enforcement agencies. The AGPA will be expected to testify in criminal a nd civil cases and/or administrative hearings in state and federal courts, as needed, regarding the record keeping processes used by the DOJ to establish, maintain, and store state summary criminal history record information.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for telework up to 5 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.
