Provide legal services as a Hearing Examiner both in person and in a virtual environment in any matters requested by the Ohio Board of Nursing (Board), involving hearings pursuant to Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Chapter 119. Hearings held pursuant to the authority described above shall be held on such date(s) as are mutually agreeable to the Board and the Hearing Examiner, with input from the Respondent and the Assistant Attorney General (AAG).

Maintain the integrity of the chain of custody for any evidence received during the course of any case heard.

Conduct pre-hearing conferences and make determinations regarding motions, oral arguments, written briefs or any other activity reasonably necessary or incidental to production of a Report for Recommendation to the Board.

Prepare and provide for the Board, as soon as practicable, and in any event within 120 days of hearing, a Report and Recommendation that is compliant with the requirements of Chapter 119 of ORC containing findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendations or other written rulings or decisions relating to any hearing. The Hearing Examiner shall expedite any required written reports upon request of the Board.

Assist the Board with non-hearing work (e.g., publication of notices, review of Board orders, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 18 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.
