Job Title: Business Analyst

Job Description:

We are undergoing a Supply Chain Transformation, focusing on robust management of supply chain risk and assurance to meet the demand for our world-leading products. As part of this transformation, we have initiated multiple IT system development projects to support strategic business initiatives across various business units. We are looking for a Business Analyst to design and develop product concepts and specifications that align with customer needs and technical and business requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct customer research to gather data and identify problems through user and stakeholder interviews.
  • Validate researched data to highlight leading indicators, enabling the team to analyze, synthesize, and determine valuable product/service options.
  • Iteratively hypothesize and discover new opportunities that align with customer needs, business objectives, and technical standards.
  • Seek continuous feedback to emphasize the importance of research-driven product decisions.
  • Engage with the Product Owner and team to prioritize and define product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with vendors to design, develop, document, and maintain software prototypes.
  • Work with external and internal technical peers (Product Managers, Product Designers, Software Engineers, Architects, and vendors) to design and validate technical approaches and designs.
  • Contribute to maintaining a ready backlog and enable the team to progress effectively using Rally/Jira.
  • Collaborate with Business Customers, Product Owners, and Product Managers to document Features, User Stories, Test Cases, etc.
  • Utilize and advocate for agile methodologies to meet stakeholder requirements.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in gathering and analyzing requirements and designing software prototypes to support product development.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams, utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience producing research assets (journey maps, affinity walls, empathy maps, storyboards, personas, etc.) to capture learning and communicate the customer experience.
  • Ability to convey design requirements and specification details to the team.
  • Ability to document detailed features and user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to create test cases, including edge cases, based on user stories.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment with a curiosity towards new technologies and a strong desire to learn.
  • Understanding of design principles and tools.
  • Use of UI/UX design practices to advocate for the customer and help the team evolve the product.
  • Engagement in providing a design perspective for cross-product integrated experiences.
  • Ensuring cohesive design within product groups and platforms by adhering to the Ford Design System, running usability tests, and creating open feedback forums.
  • Ability to communicate how the design incorporates both customer and business value.
  • Experience with business domains such as Purchasing, MP&L, and Product Development is a plus.
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of API design standards, patterns, and best practices to create robust and high-performing integrated systems.
  • Good team player who encourages team learning opportunities like Design Thinking.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, and AWS.
Required Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in gathering and analyzing requirements and designing software prototypes to support product development.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams, utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with business domains such as Purchasing, MP&L, and Product Development is a plus.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
