Why does the job exist?

To provide administrative support for the Office of African American Affairs while supporting the team to ensure the agency has what is needed to execute the mission of, "Improving the Lives of African Americans in New Mexico."

How does it get done?

Duties of this position includes:

* Administrative support including reception duties.
* Data entry functions.
* Maintaining marketing lists and activities.
* Assists with purchasing and inventory.
* Assist with community outreach.
* Assists in developing social media content and reviews.

Who are the customers?

Office of African American Affairs staff and constituents.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience in administrative/office management
* Strong organization, time management, and written communication skills
* Detail oriented skills

Minimum Qualification

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
