Assists Environmental Claims Supervisor in the prioritization of claim packages for analyst review; reviews and edits correspondence related to the claims section; assists in claims reimbursement review process; makes recommendations to the Executive Director concerning closing of determined claims and claims below deductible; researches complex claims processing issues and recommends procedure/policy changes; maintains claim reimbursement, cost pre-approval and determined eligibility files.

Performs complex and non-routine administrative tasks; possesses understanding of Board statutes, rules and policies and Bureau of UST Regulations' rules; writes or telephones owners or consultants to verify, clarify or request information; researches and responds to inquiries and complaints; drafts correspondence for claims section.

Reviews and provides comment on the design of the claims electronic database; maintains electronic claims reimbursement, pre-approval, and reasonable costs database files; processes vouchers for claim reimbursement payments and mails warrants; develops and maintains statistical Excel databases; prepares and evaluates data for all monthly statistical reports for claims section.

May assist in the preparation of publications; oversees responses to public record requests for claim section; coordinates scanning, filing, archiving and destruction of claim related records; explains program to public and public officials; may prepare and make presentations. Assists Environmental Claims Supervisor with special projects and performs other tasks as assigned.

Hybrid Eligible: After completing a minimum 90-day probationary period, the position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of management, working remotely two days a week and working three days per week in the office.

Work is performed in a standard office environment with frequent use of a personal computer; subject to sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in liberal arts, business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field; and
  • Two years of experience in business administration, or as administrative assistant, paralegal, or related professional field.
