Job Description

Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Director of Service is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating activities and service related to the office of Behavioral Health and clinical oversight of the Family Justice Center (FJC) Mental Health Program. This includes overseeing the hiring of all Mental Health Clinicians and their competencies, training of clinical staff and Quality Improvement. Working closely with the leadership team, the Associate/Clinical Director will provide direction into program clinical workflow, metrics and outcomes, program evaluation, strategic partnerships, and ongoing assessment of current state and potential expansion. The work will also include working closely with clinicians and leadership within the Domestic Violence Shelter Mental Health Initiative and providing clinical support as needed. The Associate/Clinical Director will also provide clinical services at the Bronx FJC.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Responsible for supervision, assessments, and evaluations of the mental health clinicians in the FJC program.
  • Responsible for recruitment of mental health clinician for FJC program.
  • Identify and oversee training, professional development, and ongoing training for mental health clinicians.
  • Continuously assess service delivery from a customer's perspective in an effort to provide the best clinical services.
  • Program development in response to patient needs.
  • Oversee all required documentation and reporting. Ensures the quality of documentation of all psychology, social work, and related staff.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Operations, review and revise selected policies and procedures.
  • In collaboration with the Medical Director and Senior Director of Operations, provide strategic and operational insight into metrics and outcomes and integrate data into program evaluation.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Operations, develop Quality Assurance systems and support staff in implementing the process.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies including HRA, and the Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations of center clients referred by staff and collaborating agencies on-site at the Family Justice Center.
  • Provide supportive, cognitive, interpersonal or other evidence-based individual and group-based psychotherapies for clients and families, when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with center staff and on-site service agencies related to clients' clinical needs.
  • Assist in facilitating referral for psychiatric care when appropriate.
  • Provide educational activities for center and affiliated agency staff on-site when appropriate.
  • Participate in educational and supervision activities.
  • Performs other responsible tasks and duties as directed by the Medical Director, or the Senior Director of Operations in the absence of the Medical Director


Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduation from an approved School of Medicine and completion of an approved residency and Board eligible; and,
2. N.Y. State license; and,
3. Five years of full-time paid experience in a responsible medical and clinical administrative and/or managerial capacity; or,
4. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
5. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical services administration, of which at least four years must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Familiarity with high-risk patients and cultural sensitivity in community settings. Familiarity with high-risk populations and community settings, demonstrated interest in maternal mental health.
  • Management of clinical programs
  • Administrative and research experience a plus.
  • Child treatment experience also plus.
