Summary

The incumbent will partner with an existing Clinical Manager and the Clinical Director of the Outpatient IV Therapy program to oversee the day-to-day operations for the infusion centers located in South Portland, Scarborough, Biddeford and Sanford, ME. This position will be approximately 70% administration/supervisory and 30% clinical/direct patient care.

The ideal candidate will have experience administering and managing the care of patients receiving oncology and non-oncology infusion treatment. Current ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider card is required, Oncology Certification (OCN) preferred. For true success in this position, the selected candidate will have prior experience in a leadership/management role and the ability to partner with other disciplines, departments and health care providers as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Position Summary
  • The Clinical Manager is responsible for supervising and overseeing all operational aspects of the clinical department, including clinical services and staffing needs. The Clinical Manager is responsible for coordinating the clinical work flow in order to provide the most efficient, effective, safe and comprehensive patient care. The Clinical Manager will work with physicians, midlevel providers and clinical staff to increase the volume of clinical outpatient services, referral process, patient flow, and maximize the productivity of each practice location.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: BSN required.
  • License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS certification.
  • Experience: Five years of experience in the nursing field. Supervisory/managerial experience preferred. Experience working with computers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and standards, medical procedures, tests, and clinical/clerical skills necessary to perform all functions and assist physicians. Knowledge of pharmacology is desirable.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers.
  • Analytical ability sufficient to identify patients at risk and initiate appropriate action.
  • Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families, and to plan strategies for managing these situations when they arise.
  • Analytical ability required gathering and interpreting information necessary to resolve problems in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
