Indotronix is seeking a Cobol Compiler Remote position

Position Title: Cobol Compiler

Position Location: Remote

Duration: Contract to hire

Project/ initiative:

The default COBOL compiler at Client is v6.2 until EOY 2023 transition to the new default of v6.3. The only available compilers at Client in 2024 will be 4.2 and 6.3. All programs running
Testing scope would include capturing inputs and outputs - running against recompiled (batch) programs and comparing new output to old output.

2 types of programs; online and batch. The operations center all day runs batch programs and apps. The programs that support these jobs, the task would be to recompile the programs in the job stream to capture the inputs and outputs in production and execute against the new program. If the inputs and outputs of new program validate with the old program you have test proof.

Online; calls mainframe service to run through different Cobol programs to show customer balance (as example), requires the recompile of programs and any programs they are calling on. Would need to review whole body of services to go through one test cycle.

Internal QE teams would be doing the testing but the candidates here would need to do the prep work to get applications ready to test.
