Position: UI/UX Designer

Location: Remote

Duration: Contract to hire

Days of the week: Monday through Friday

Job Responsibilities:
• Focus on UX and UI design from the beginning of the sales process through the completion of the software development process.
• Create seamless prototypes, user flows, and intuitive experiences within Tempus financial products and client implementations.
• Designing solutions for enterprise-scale workflows and making actions simple for both novice and expert users.
• Help define, maintain, and expand our product design system.
• Within your first month - start producing mockups and user flows for new development efforts using existing design patterns
• Within 3 months - having a strong grasp of the current product, users, and brand, allowing you to better understand how to evolve our product and design patterns
• Within 6 months, having made a meaningful impact on the success of the product by delivering valuable features
• Works closely with business analysts, business sponsors, project managers and IT teams to obtain and understand business requirements.
• Creates the design of user interface specifications, by applying client research, design standards, industry best practices, taking into account st***gic business objectives, user needs, systems constraints.
• Participates in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.
• Executes business acceptance test cases and testing.
• Works with the project managers to ensure that usability deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical and scope constraints.
• Contributes to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, metrics and design standards.
• Acts as a user experience advocate regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design.
• Proven understanding of user-centered design techniques & demonst***d ability to incorpo*** UCD principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces.
• Demonst***d ability in gathering and translating requirements from business sponsors, SMEs, users, and business analysts etc.

Skills:

Experience working with early stage design artifacts like journey maps, information architecture, user workflows, to more visual artifacts like mockups, wireframes, and prototypes.

Enjoys the design review process, and seeks and provides feedback from multidisciplinary stakeholders who may not be skilled in design.

Strong proficiency in Figma (or similar software like Sketch or Adobe Xd)

Soft skills that would make a candidate successful in this role:

Approaches problems and critical thinking scenarios with empathy, consideration, and a positive attitude

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed

Degrees or certifications for the candidate to be successful:
• 1-3 years relevant experience, working at a technology company in a product design (or similar) role
• An online portfolio demonstrating a breadth of design capabilities as well as design process on web and mobile platforms
