What You'll Do
Ohio Department of Public Safety - Information Technology Department/PC Support
Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Days and hours would vary between Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm depending on student's schedule.
This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).
The pay rage for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93
Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59
Major/field of study should be in: Computer Science
Job duties:
• Password Resets - helping users get logged back into their computers via:
o Password help
o Resets
o General troubleshooting
• Imaging - Following steps, for each appropriate division, on how to build a desktop/laptop computer through the imaging processing, including:
o Unboxing
o Connecting to workbench
o Running through setup on computer
o Pulling appropriate image from Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
o Adding user info and Active Directory (AD)/Organization Unit (OU) information
o Labeling and distribution
• Onboarding - Providing new equipment to a user from start to finish:
o Following the appropriate checklist
o Talking with supervisor
o Coordinating with Accounts Management and Email Group (AMMG) for access
o Setting time to meet with user
o Helping user to get logged into all of their accounts (computer, Ohio ID, Multifactor Authentication, Virtual Private Network (VPN), etc.)
o Assigning appropriate software and printers
o Ensuring customer is able to work
• Help Desk Calls -
o Answering phone
o Creating Service Now ticket
o Troubleshooting and assisting as able
o Escalating ticket to appropriate group if needed
• General Troubleshooting -
o User issues
o Software downloads
o Printer set ups
o Moving of users
o Other scenarios which may occur

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
Be in good standing with the college/university.
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Be enrolled in at least one course.
Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
