Under the direction of the Associate Vice President - Compliance and Privacy Officer, the Assistant Director is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of Montefiore Nyack Hospital's Compliance Program , which includes the HIPAA Privacy Program. This position is responsible for leadership and direction of the compliance program and works collaboratively with staff and external regulatory agencies facilitating the fulfillment of regulatory requirements of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the New York State Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG), the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) the New York State Department of Health (NYDOH) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). Conducts investigations, implements and manages the annual compliance work plan as well as assisting with managing the day-to- day operations of the Compliance Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
2. Experience: Five years' of Compliance and HIPAA experience in a health care facility
3. Experienced in researching and interpreting federal and state regulations
4. Training/Certification: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC ®) Ideally Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC®)

5. Other: Knowledge of pertinent federal and state laws related to healthcare, reimbursement policies and ability to comprehend regulatory matters. Must be self-directive, able to prioritize and multi task in a fast pace working environment. Knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in Microsoft Office and office equipment.
