General description

The IT division is looking for a strong Natural developer or Natural Administrator, who is interested in working with and learning from experienced Natural Administrators to support installation, maintenance, and daily support of the Comptroller's Software AG products. This person will be learning the Comptroller's environments where Software AG products are installed and will work with Natural developers on daily use of Software AG products such as Natural, Predict, PAC, NaturalONE, EntireX and Integration Server, and will assist the Natural programmers as they develop APIs to mainframe Natural application objects. Your workday will involve continuous learning and development, solving customer and technical issues that arise, working projects and demonstrating your teamwork skills in brainstorming sessions to resolve reported issues and/or to design solutions for our customers' IT needs. You would be a great fit for this role if you are detailed and solution oriented, and are ready to expand your programming skills to learning how to implement and support the infrastructure of our Natural programming environment.

Work Hours

Work hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, 40-hour week, Monday - Friday. Occasionally will work additional hours including weekends and holidays. Performs rotating on-call duties related to Natural Administration and Technical Support (24 x 7). Hours may change based on business need. Work on-site during normal Sunday 5am-10am maintenance window as required.

Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 1-3 days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.

• Five (5) years' experience within the last 10 years of the following:

--> Full time Experience working as a Natural Administrator and/or a Natural Developer, with Software AG's Natural.

--> Experience analyzing and supporting mainframe Natural applications

--> Experience with IBM utility programs and products

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.

• Experience with Software AG's Predict.

• Experience with Software AG's Adabas;

• Experience with Software AG's Natural for Db2

• Experience with Software AG's EntireX Broker in a server environment (Windows and Unix)

• Experience with CICS

Substitutions

One additional year experience, within the last 10 years, in analyzing and supporting Software AG's Natural and associated system software may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required education with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).

In this role you will:

• Performs Natural Administration function for Natural and related products. Provides technical support for users and mainframe software developers for Natural-related issues. Researches coding related problems, either technical or performance related, and implements solutions, including communication with vendor to obtain solutions when necessary.

• Plans, installs, maintains, upgrades and administers Software AG's Natural and related software products and provides documentation for all software changes. Performs administrative level testing when Natural or related products or products that Natural interfaces with are upgraded.

• Manages work activities, communicating with management and other team members in a timely and effective manner.

• Performs mainframe disaster recovery activities for section including but not limited to, participating in disaster recovery hot site exercises and managing the mainframe's Software AG's Natural environment and updating documentation.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary is contingent upon qualifications. CPA employees in the same job classification, if selected, will be laterally transferred with no increase in salary. (An example might be an Accounts Examiner III in Revenue Administration who moves to an Accounts Examiner III in the Enforcement division).
