Airswift is seeking a Contracts Specialist to work on a 24-months assignment with a major Energy company, located in Downtown Houston, TX. Candidates will need to be in the office 5 days a week and that is non-negotiable for their first 3 months, at least.

Successful candidates will have strong hands-on experience with large EPC or major supply or FEED projects within the Energy or Mining industry.

Job Description

The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for drafting and administrating the contracts placed by the Project and follow-up the Long Lead Items delivery during all project phases (Pre-project, FEED, Execution).

Job Responsibilities
  • Preparation of all the project contracts documents (FEED, contract for packages, etc).
  • Ensuring that all tenders and contract activities are performed in accordance with regulations, client company's rules and procedures.
  • Preparation of all procedures related to contract management, including templates, registers to efficiently manage the contracts.
  • Preparation of the CFTs Evaluation procedure according to company rules and ensure it is applied.
  • Prequalification process for the bidders list.
  • Coordination of the CFT process and participation in the bid evaluation.
  • Negotiation of the contract and preparation of the Recommendation to award (RTA).
  • Contract management, such as, but not limited to: management of variation request, assistance to Project Controls Team in matters related to Claims, Disputes and negotiation.
  • Preparation of all the correspondences for the contracts and correspondence register maintenance.
  • Follow-up, tracking, expediting of the procurement of the LLI for the project.
  • Preparation of the contract Close-out and REX (Return of Experience).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Engineering, business, or Law school Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience drafting contracts for major projects
  • 10+ years of experience working on contracts from start to finish and hands on managing them
  • Experience in Call For Tenders management, EPC contract administration and Energies industry
  • Any experience with Hydrogen projects in that capacity, is a major plus.
  • Experience with ARIBA tools is a plus.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be tasked with overseeing the delivery of mechanical engineering services to our client and its customers, providing technical support within the Mechanical discipline for hydrocarbons, energy and chemicals industries. Your role will involve facilitating the construction of various types of production plants and facilities.
This position will be offered on an initial 12-month contract and will be located at our client's facilities in the Perth CBD.

Your responsibilities will include;
  • Deliver discipline specific engineering services that meet our client, its customer's and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform mechanical engineering services such as: prepare and review the production of mechanical package deliverables including datasheets, specifications, scope of supply, document / data requirement lists, technical bid evaluations, drawings, specifications, calculations and reports, review, consolidate and co-ordinate interdisciplinary review of vendor data and drawings.
  • Manage and expedite vendors to deliver packages in accordance with scope of supply and the project schedule.

  • Experience in rotating equipment package management, document review and consolidation. Relevant equipment includes single and multi-stage centrifugal pumps, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, blowers, positive displacement pumps and seal less pumps and experience working with API standards for rotating all these equipment and understanding of piping and pipe supports and the interfaces with mechanical equipment.
  • An excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, including:
    • Brownfields and Greenfields engineering,
    • Equipment layout,
    • Read and interpret drawings, including general mechanical, piping and P&ID drawings.
  • An understanding of the basic requirements of other disciplines and knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven history of delivering multiple mechanical packages on major projects within the hydrocarbon or renewable energy industries.
  • Capable in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and discipline specific software Navisworks, Bluebeam / Adobe Suite.
  • Highly effective people skills such as team, interpersonal and mentoring skills, highly effective personal management skills including the ability to manage time and priorities,

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, make presentations when required and draft high-quality documentation, and able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
  • Previous experience on mid-size - major projects, through all phases, included execution along with Package management experience, Technical and practical experience in the Mechanical / Piping disciplines.
  • A recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status will be preferred.

  • Deliver quality services and demonstrate a commitment to understand, meet customer needs, and act in the best interests of our client always.
  • Travel as required for project requirements, such as to vendor facilities, perform any other duties that are reasonably required from time to time.
