The Conversion Operations Coordinator serves as a key overnight Conversion Crew Leader, supporting the manager to ensure the setup and teardown of stages, basketball courts, chairs, and other equipment for events at the Frost Bank Center, including NBA and NCAA games, concerts, and special events. Additionally, this position will assist in overseeing the Retractable Seating System, ensuring they are fully operational and well-maintained. What You'll Do:
  • Provides support to Conversion Operations Manager and department leads with all conversion processes, including but not limited to, the setup and breakdown of stages, basketball courts, chairs, and other equipment based on event needs.
  • Assist in the development and training of Conversion Crew Leads on operating procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, emergency plans, and safety/risk management programs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards and ensure setups are compliant.
  • Support and oversee the Retractable Seating System to include functionality, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • In partnership with the Conversion Operations Manager, assist in tracking inventory and auditing and logging contracted labor time sheets.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training in lieu of degree. (Minimum 1 year will be considered.)
  • Preferred experience in the operations field to include basketball / concert conversions, retractable seating, fixed seating, and other events.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts in an arena setting. Flexible hours are required to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to fulfill an event-based schedule.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, or other power-driven equipment. Certifications preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined individual preferred, general knowledge of mechanics with a passion for problem solving and making repairs to mechanical systems.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized with an ability to simultaneously balance multiple tasks and adapt to change.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a clean & safe work environment.
  • Must have the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and navigate through stairways in an arena setting.
  • Flexible and creative when dealing with last minute request/changes with events.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting (min. of 75lbs), carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and Office Suite is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • This role is based in San Antonio - 10% of the job duties can be performed remotely, 90% of the work performed onsite as needed or based on event load.
