As a Cook 2, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of hot dishes in our kitchen. This role requires culinary expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment. You will assist in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests by maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook hot food items according to hotel recipes and standards, including appetizers, entrees, and side dishes.

Station Management: Manage and oversee the hot side station, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and served at the correct temperature and presentation.

Quality Control: Monitor food quality and ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion sizes.

Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by monitoring stock levels, rotating products, and reporting any shortages or quality issues.

Health & Safety: Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including adherence to health and safety regulations.

Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including line cooks and sous chefs, to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

Training & Development: Support and mentor junior cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques and best practices.

Menu Development: Participate in menu planning and development, providing input and feedback based on guest preferences and seasonal ingredients.

This is an hourly position with compensation ranging from $24-$25.24 per hour. The final offer will be based on experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a hotel or upscale dining environment.

• Proficient in a variety of cooking techniques and methods, with a solid understanding of hot side station operations.

• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods and lift up to a moderate weight limit.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
