Position Number: 123900 Position Title (Classification Title): Coordinator II 123900 Working Title: Coordinator II Job Summary: This position is responsible for event planning with a specific focus on creating educational and cultural programs which promote an open-minded, civil, and respectful environment for all UWF students, staff, and visitors. The Coordinator works in the Office of Campus Culture and Access (OCCA), which includes civil discourse, student accessibility/disability services, student ombud services, and sexual assault/Title IX programs. The Coordinator also works with UWF students, staff, and faculty across the university to develop programs that promote civility, open dialogue, and cultural awareness. This position also serves as Deputy Student Ombuds, working with students who need impartial assistance navigating university policies and procedures. Department Campus Culture FLSA: Exempt Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Position Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant area of study or a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Results-oriented and organized with attention to detail. Must work well with all populations across campus. Experience in event planning, familiarity with higher education processes, and assessing impact of events. Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 65% - Event planning. Design and implement educational events to create a welcoming, civil, inclusive, and respectful learning and working environment at UWF and in the greater community. Work with student organizations to assist with student-led initiatives and collaborate with campus partners and volunteers. Partner with campus and community organizations to develop relevant programming. Offer assessments which measure efficiency and effectiveness and work closely with OCCA staff to identify and close gaps in service. Report campus progress to relevant stakeholders. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Support the overall mission of the OCCA by learning office administration processes and engaging in work with Student Accessibility and Title IX programs during busy times. This work may include helping with budget or travel paperwork, assisting with providing student accommodations, assisting with Title IX complaints, and other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Serve in the role of Deputy Student Ombuds, as a resource and designated neutral party for students who may have a University-related concern or grievance. - (Essential)
