Essential Functions

Process applications for federal and non-federal financial aid and assist with the awarding process for the Federal Work Study program. Reviews eligibility and awards funds for federal and state aid with full authority to commit funds. Maintains the Federal Work Study Program wait list, helps students complete employment forms, addresses payroll issues and performance management, including all disciplinary actions up to and including termination. Enters, audits, and maintains hiring records. Ensures all campus-based awarding is kept within budgetary parameters. Monitors funding levels on a monthly basis and reports expected funding needs to supervisors. Processes and reconciles FWS Payroll and maintains FWS JobX/TimesheetX platform for job postings, hire approvals, approval of timesheets and compliance with regards to working during scheduled class time. Gathers and reports work study wages per student to the federal government per new compliance/regulatory requirements. Responsible for development and maintenance for Federal Work Study website, supervisor handbook and resource page. Assists with reviewing and maintaining Policies and Procedure manual up to date based on federal regulations. Communicate effectively with campus community to request and promote available work study positions. Serves as the campus trainer for staff and students who are new to the JobX/TimesheetX platform. Responsible for implementing, training, and maintaining compliance to supervisors with regards to our policies and FWS guidelines. Supervise office work study/ UAS student employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with two years of related professional experience, associate's degree with four years of related professional experience, OR a high school diploma/ GED with six years of related professional experience. Effective oral, written, listening and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a high traffic environment and still provide timely, accurate results.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Higher Education policies and procedures. Financial Aid Experience. Ability to travel/speak as needed. Knowledge of Banner and FERPA . Ability to read, analyze and interpret federal/state regulations and institutional policies and procedures. Ability to train students and supervisors. Ability to respond effectively to common inquiries or complaints from students/families with regards to Federal Work study. Preferred- 2+ year of customer service experience.

Work Hours

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.
