COORDINATOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS
(Full-Time)
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time, exempt position of Coordinator of Business Operations. He/she serves as the chief business officer for the college, overseeing all business functions. In addition, this role administers the policies and procedures that apply to the business offices, directs the planning, development, and implementation of the college's budgeting and staffing aspects to meet the community's present and future needs and comply with TBR, State and Federal policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Five or more years' experience managing business, finance, purchasing or accounting operations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Leadership ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, use of personal computers and strong technical skills.
• Ability to prioritize projects, attend to multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Knowledge and Abilities
• Broad knowledge of the principles and methods of accounting and finance; knowledge of business English and mathematics, and of current office technology, equipment, and procedures; knowledge of budgeting and centralized purchasing procedures, and of the principles and methods of supervision.
• High level experience working with budgets, purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general/secondary ledgers.
• Ability to make sound financial judgment; ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers; good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions; ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly; and ability to plan and direct the work of others.
General Duties
• Assist the President in carrying out the mission and strategic goals.
• Formulate business policies, develop operating procedures, and establish accounting and reporting methods.
• Manage all business and financial operations including accounts receivable, purchasing, accounts payable, budgeting, financial accounting and reporting, contracts, inventory control, auxiliary bookstore, mail distribution, travel and office technology.
• Maintain a system of financial and related statistical reporting for the college including grants.
• Monitor the financial strength of the college through review and use of financial benchmarks.
• Supervise and evaluate assigned employees.
• Ensure appropriate purchasing policies/guidelines/regulations are followed.
• Interact with instructors to ensure they have instructional equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and enter the IPEDs financial information annually.
• Work with TBR accounting staff relative to daily, monthly, annual tasks.
• Maintain documentation for equipment inventory.
• Orientate new employees on business office functions.
• Prepare travel authorizations and travel claims.
• Distribute surplus equipment announcements as required; handle Govdeals.net purchases of surplus items.
• Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the administration.
Salary: Coordinator 4, Pay Grade 106. 50,494 - 65,547. Commensurate with qualifications and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Normal standing, sitting, and walking
• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects.
• Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
