Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer, the Credit Analyst Manager oversees a team of 10 credit analysts. This role involves reviewing loan presentations, acting as the first line of defense, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and reviewing loan analysis and administration. The manager will also review loan packages before they go to committee and provide support to analysts seeking assistance.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Manage the Credit Analyst department and support the Banks lending function.
Assist, coach, and train credit analysts and/or loan officers in evaluating the financial history and statements of credit applicants to assess creditworthiness.
Analyze financial strength, cash flow adequacy, and calculate related ratios to determine the probability of full repayment and the need for collateral or a guarantor.
Facilitate or assist in preparing loan requests by completing credit analysis and credit memorandums for larger or more complex loan requests for presentation to loan officers or committees.
Complete related special projects as needed.
Provide assistance to lenders with policy and loan questions or concerns.
Manage hiring, daily activities, coaching, evaluating, and counseling of staff.
Participate in job-specific and other various Bank training programs.
Maintain current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy, and ensure adherence by department personnel.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls.
Maintain current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML, and ensure adherence by department personnel.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree required.
Eight years of experience as a Credit Analyst, Credit Risk Analyst, or Loan Officer in a financial institution.
Four years of prior management experience (can be outside of finance but must include full management responsibilities such as hiring, training, and reviewing).
Knowledge of commercial, trade-finance, asset-based lending, loan documentation, financial statements, and cash flow.
Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Word (basic functions).
Full understanding of credit risk.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks accurately with frequent interruptions.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- BBA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Ability to read Mexican financial statements
- Credit risk certifications
