Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst to join our team working on small to medium size IT projects. 

This is a hybrid/onsite role in the Data Services team as part of the IT and Business Intelligence Division. 

The selected individual will be responsible for organizing, processing, and reporting data related to different business units using a suite of different data tools. 

The ideal person will have the technical expertise to work hands-on with databases to ensure data accuracy, data quality and to improve data processes to make data useful for our different business units.

Some of the main responsibilities for this role will include:

Using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources. Conduct quality audits to data sources and automated reports.

Remove corrupted data and fix coding errors and related problems in databases.

Develop and maintain databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format.

Perform analysis to assess quality and meaning of data. Work with subject matter experts to make necessary changes to databases and our data warehouse to improve working efficiency of our data architecture.

Filter data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems. Manage and improve existing reporting systems to provide business value.

Assist in solving pain points related to data quality, data lineage and master data management (MDMS).

Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and collaborate with data governance team.

Prepare and maintain dashboards for monitoring data quality and for relevant business indicators.

Demonstrated skills in using SQL and non-SQL database management tools: MS SQL Server Management Studios, MySQL, SSIS and SSRS, among others.

Knowledge on data analytics tools utilization is a plus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field or equivalent related experience.

Five+ years of data analyst or related experience, including proficiency with analytical software or equivalent related education, particularly working with databases.

Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and research methods.

Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, customer service, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, project management, quality management, teamwork, written communication, group presentations, group process facilitation, influence, results orientation, and strategic thinking.

Strong knowledge of Project Management principles, methodology, and tools.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI.

Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management applications.

Experience dealing with transactional databases, and accounting.

Oil & Gas background is considered a plus.
