Summary: DACC, a responsive, accessible, comprehensive, learning-centered community college that provides education opportunities to a diverse community of learners is inviting candidates to apply for the following vacant position:
Classification Summary:• Prepare and teach assigned courses in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene theory and lab.
• Teach assigned clinical contact hours throughout the academic year, fall, spring and summer semesters.
• Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with Program Director and department faculty. Assist in collection and reporting for accreditation documents.
• Coordinate clinical schedules & patient assignments, order clinical supplies, oversee quality assurance protocols. Provide direct patient care services as needed and as assigned by the department chair
• Participate in department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces and working groups.
• Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities.
• Function as advisor to students, both individually and as assigned to student clubs.
• Teaching assignment may include day, evenings, and/or weekends and may be assigned to any of the dental program locations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Classification Standard Duties:
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
• Graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) Accredited Dental Hygiene Program
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in Dental Hygiene
• Eligible for Dental Hygiene license in New Mexico including local anesthesia certification.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Dental Hygiene, Sciences, Education, or related field.
• Experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and different teaching/learning modalities.
• Experience in developing curriculum, measuring student learning outcomes, evaluating course efficacy, and assessing and improving student learning.
• Demonstrated experience teaching and relating to students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Prior teaching experience in a CODA Accredited Dental Hygiene Program or Dental School.
• Bilingual competence in Spanish and English will be considered an asset.
