Our client, is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join their team. As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be part of the department and supporting the team.

What's the Job?
  • Provide first-level triage and technical support to employees through ticketing system and in-person interactions at the AMD Geek Street support desk.
  • Analyze technician workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization, ensuring efficient service delivery.
  • Identify and document technician workflows lacking supporting process documentation, contributing to knowledge management efforts.
  • Assist the IT team with system provisioning, device refreshes, and replacements to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Write and maintain documentation related to IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Manage physical and virtual asset stockroom maintenance to ensure availability and accuracy of inventory.
  • Support IT project goals by contributing to project tasks and deliverables as assigned.
  • Set up devices and mobile accessories for internal clients, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
  • Communicate timely status updates to internal clients regarding IT support requests and incident resolutions.
  • Prioritize and manage support requests to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with a senior IT technician for escalations, guidance, and knowledge advancement in IT support.
  • Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures related to IT security and data privacy.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and training to enhance technical skills and stay updated with industry trends.

What's Needed?
  • Basic understanding of Windows troubleshooting and familiarity with Android/iOS platforms.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to provide clear and effective technical support.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or command line (CLI) operations.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, LAN, and WAN.
  • Proficiency in navigating PCs and performing basic troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ability to document technical issues clearly and accurately.
  • Interest in technology and comfortable in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for assisting users and documenting IT issues.
  • Team player with a willingness to learn from others and contribute to team goals.
  • Patience and a customer-focused attitude to support non-technical users effectively.
  • Ideal for students pursuing degrees related to technology such as Management Information Systems, Business Technology Management, or Information Technology.
