Overview of Westchester Soccer Club

Westchester Soccer Club (Westchester SC) is the first homegrown professional soccer club in Westchester, NY. Located in one of the densest area's in the United States and in the United Soccer League's (USL) market, the club aims to bring top quality professional soccer to the NY area with the goal to compete for the championship every year. The club will have an Academy which shows a strong commitment to nurturing local talent and the club aims to build a world-class development pipeline for both boys and girls in the Westchester (and surrounding) areas.

The club is dedicated to celebrating the region's profound love for soccer through exciting game experiences and community-focused events.

The club's first team will play in the professional league USL League One (USL1) and the Academy will participate in the USL Academy and Super Y league.

Position Description

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for leading, developing and executing brand marketing strategies and activations. Specifically, working with internal departments, external agencies and partners, spearheading all advertising and promotional campaigns for Westchester Soccer Club.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans to meet annual sales goals
  • Manages game presentation and works closely with operations staff to ensure all consumer facing marketing and brand elements are presented appropriately
  • Leads, manages, and creates a plan for the entire marketing staff (traditional media, social media, PR)
  • Collaborates with the sales team to create campaigns focused on both growing the new season ticket member base, retention, group, advance, theme, and walk-up tickets
  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotional campaigns which may include TV, radio, print, social and digital marketing in an effort to ultimately drive sales and increase brand affinity
  • Maintains consistent oversight and awareness of campaign results and proactively takes corrective action, as needed, to optimize results
  • Evaluates market trends and adjust strategies to adapt to the changing market and competitive conditions
  • Acts as a liaison with the Partnerships department to ensure the partners of the organization are supporting sales through internal and external partner distribution channels
  • Collaborates with senior management to ensure all creative assets properly reflect the brand and are consistent with marketing and sales objectives
  • Works with the all other departments to ensure cross-platform execution
  • Collaboratively supports community initiatives
  • Develops and motivates team members
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 4 years of experience within the sports, entertainment, advertising or media industries preferred
  • At least 4 years of experience working with media agencies to coordinate delivery of creative assets in accordance with media plans
  • At least 2-4 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the brand's competing strengths, weaknesses and market position
  • Demonstrated understanding of how marketing, creative and media work seamlessly to help brand succeed
  • Ability to lead within a fast-paced environment and deliver amidst demanding timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team
  • Experience in leading marketing and media agencies
  • Ability to organize and oversee multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive understanding of creative production processes
  • Extensive experience developing digital and social creative solutions
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Independent, self-motivated and creative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
