Job Profile

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Spiritual Care is responsible for oversite of Pastoral Care Department and the Pastoral Education program. The Director oversees and ensures the provision of spiritual care contribute to the wellbeing of patients, families and healthcare professionals by providing care that engages their spiritua, emotional and relational self. The Director oversees the provision of education and training of the Pastoral Care Residents and ensures that all standards of the Association for Clinical Patoral Care (ACPE) and accreditation guidelines are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Master's degree in Divinity, Pastoral Care, or Theology from an accredited theological seminary or equivalent Master's degree.

Board Certified - Must be a Board Certified Chaplain. Consideration given to a certified ACPE educator who is also a Board Certified Chaplain.

Work Experience: Minimum of (5) years in an accredited theological seminary or spiritual care setting or in an ACPE Educational program.

Management Experience: At least 1 year experience as a chaplain director or equivalent or 5 years working in spiritual care or teaching in an ACPE educational program.

Other Requirements: Ecclessiatrical endorsement and ordination from an official church body. Experience providing direction to Spiritual Care Department.

Typical Duties That May Be Performed

1. Required to work on-site at least 40 hours per week.
2. Demonstrates effective oral and written communications, including email.
3. Prepares and delivers timely business communications including meeting agendas, presentations, PI reports, quarterly reports, and operational plans.

20. Decides time, place and sequence of operations within an organizational framework, as well as overseeing their execution.

25. Interacts daily with medical staff, etc. to discuss relevant issues impacting his/her department.
